The August general elections real showdown is expected in Mt Kenya region due to their large volume of voters, and they also do not have a stronger candidate to field for the country's top office.
Deputy President William Ruto and his bitter rival Raila Odinga are currently eying the region's support, with speculations looming that whoever will receive the Mountain support in a larger percentage will probably end up bagging the presidency slot.
However, ODM adherent Mohamed Wehliye has attacked deputy President William Ruto in bid to interfere with his support in the region. Through his Twitter social media, the Raila ally has incited the Mt Kenya residents against the DP, pausing on why he is telling his allies from the region to fold their parties and join UDA, and yet he welcomed ANC and Ford Kenya to form an alliance with UDA.
"Small parties in Mt Kenya have been asked to fold & join UDA but ANC and Ford Kenya have been welcomed as partners. My fellow mountaineers smell the coffee; andu matari ndundu mahuragwo na njuguma imwe!," Wehliye has penned.
However, Mt Kenya residents have defended the second in command while launching a scatting attack against Mr Wehliye to mind Azimio business, with some asserting that they are contented with what the DP says. Here are reactions;
J.K; Ruto is an honorary Kikuyu and Kikuyu political kingpin.He represents Kikuyu interests in the Kikuyu party called UDA.
Rkl; Who have asked them to fold and join UDA? The Truth that's so scarce in Azimio won't derail the options available for WSR to ascend to presidency.
Kip; Propaganda imeisha sasa ni kulia facing mount Kenya 😂,badilisheni strategy Mumeanza kukwama na hustler hajaanza siasa.
Dannie; We are okey whatever ruto says iko sawa na sisi mt.Kenya ambieni huyo mzee ajaribu campaign 3 days bila rest
