Mutahi Ngunyi, a well-known political researcher and analyst, has reacted to DP Ruto's attendance and role as the major attraction at Musalia Mudavadi's presidential campaign kickoff at the Bomas.
Mutahi Ngunyi feels the Kikuyus are being tricked into supporting Ruto because they believe they would be rewarded with the job of DP.
This does not appear to be the case, as Musalia and Wetangula have shown signs of forming a partnership ahead of the August elections. Given Mudavadi's status as a veteran politician, it will be difficult for Ruto to avoid selecting him as his running mate.
Ngunyi asked the GEMA Nation if the DP was calculating incorrect political maneuvers or if he was simply savvy.
The majority stated they don't care about Ruto's choice of running mate, while others warned Kikuyus will abandon Ruto, which would be political suicide.
Most Kikuyus in the comment sections indicated that they have been in power for 20 years and that their lives haven't altered much, save that their fellows at the top eat well.
