As the Machakos county, senatorial by-elections near residents have been urged to vote wisely for the leader who will represent them in the senate.
Speaking exclusively to Opera News, Lawrence Maingi a politician from Masinga said that although there are tens of contestants seeking to succeeded Kabaka only the capable and deserving one should have the seat.
He said that the former senator was a performer and the county deserves nothing less than that.
"We have a by-election that is coming and Machakos people should know that it's an election to replace what we lost after the death of Senator Boniface Kabaka last month. Most people have come to terms that the late was a hardworking leader, courageous and charismatic," said Maingi.
"We shouldn't just elect someone looking for employment or seeking to fill the vacant space left but someone willing to commit to the people of Machakos by representing them, doing legislation and also oversight," he added.
The by-election is set for 18th March and several leaders are seen getting to the ground in a bid to convince the residents why they deserve the seat.
The seat fell vacant last month after the death of Boniface Kabaka in Nairobi hospital.
Among those contesting for the seat include Mutua Katuku, Gilbert Maluki, Benard Muthama, Magdalene Ndawa, Lily Nduku, Simeon Kitheka among others.
The fierce battle will be that of titans as Wiper will be contesting against Chapchap and the Hustler movement.
Whoever carries the day will be chosen by the electorate on the most awaited day.
