Westlands Member of Parliament Hon Tim Wanyonyi Wetangula will be defending his seat in the forthcoming general elections. This is after shelving his ambition for Nairobi's top seat in favor of Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee Party of Kenya.

Wanyonyi who was first elected to the National Assembly in the year 2013 is one of the MPs living with disabilities that we have in our Country Kenya. Despite his condition, he is an influential leader. What some people don't really know is that he was not born disabled.

He graced Jeff Koinange Live Show on Citizen TV and narrated how he found himself in a wheelchair. The politician is a lawyer by profession just like his elder brother, Bungoma County Senator Hon Moses Masika Wetangula.

In the year 1998, young Wanyonyi was shot by carjackers. The incident took place in Ngara area of Nairobi. Till this date, he has never recovered. But one thing that is clear is that the legislator is a role model to many people living with such a condition that are interested in running for elective seats.

Indeed, disability is not inability!
