UDA secretariat has responded to Jubilee through a letter which was written to registrar of Political parties citing dispute over the letter which Jubilees wrote, ending their association with them.
Part of the letter reads:
“As provided for in the coalition agreement deposited in your office on May 30, 2018, in compliance with Section 10 (4) of the Political Parties Act NO. 11 of 2012. Schedule 3 thereof ad further pursuant to provisions f Article 6 of the said Coalition agreement, we have therefore declared dispute,” Maina said.
Maina has urged for abitrattion process so as to solve the stalemate, saying that the organs of each party are working on ways they can handle the matter.
Until the fate of the coalition is determined, those who are holding the position in parliament by virtue of previous agreement between the two parties will still continue discharging their duties.
Though it still remains a mystery, what could have necessitated the break is UDA's association with Deputy President. Dp has had straining relationship with the party which got him into office.
A real showdown looming between the two parties after recent development.
