Following the impeachment of Wajir Governor Abdi Mohammed by the senate. Now the deputy governor, Ahmed Muktar Werar is expected to be sworn in today. The ceremony would be held at Wajir County Headquarters.

Former Governor, Abdi Mohammed was yesterday impeached by the senate.25 senators voted in favor of the ouster, While 2 senators opposed his impeachment,Only 4 abstained from voting. Leading to his impeachment. He was impeached due to corruption and abuse of office.
The impeachment is already effective. However, the governor has a chance to appeal the decision.
Despite the governor's pleas to the senate to reconsider his case.Whereby he desired to be given a second chance. The Senate went ahead to impeach the governor.
The governor is said to have violated Article(43) of the Constitution, on the right to better attainable health standards.
