Kivutha Kibwana, the governor of Makueni, has spoken out about Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka rejoining the Azimio coalition.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, Kalonzo Musyoka announced his candidacy for State House president, along with his running mate candidate.
According to sources, Kalonzo would have been appointed Chief Minister under the Azimio arrangement if the coalition had won power, but he bailed.
Kivutha Kibwana, the chief minister, has stated that if Kalonzo rejoins the Azimio coalition, he will retain his position, claiming that his decision to leave the party was personal.
"Kalonzo Musyoka has resigned from the Azimio One Kenya Coalition.
I sincerely hope he changes his mind "Kivutha Kibwana believes.
His entry into the race has provided Kenyans with more options when deciding who will be their president in August 2022.
