West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo has declared his support for the Right Honourable former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga and his Azimio la Umoja.
He surprisingly turned up for the Azimio la Umoja which Raila Odinga is holding in his West Pokot county which is within the Rift Valley region on Monday morning.
He is among the leaders who presented their memorandum to Raila Odinga and his team expressing confidence that Raila Odinga will be the next president of Kenya after president Uhuru Kenyatta.
This cones weeks after the Governor who is also a Professor of Applied Mathematics John Micheal Krop Jackson Lonyangapuo ditched Gideon Moi's Kenya African National Union KANU party.
This is a huge blow to deputy president William Ruto who is believed to be preparing to go to his Rift Valley region backyard for the next five days to try and popularise his hustler nation movement.
He will be transversing different Rift Valley region counties together with his colleagues with his visit begining on Monday after holding a top meeting at his official Karen residence.
Among those attending his meeting are governors from the Rift Valley region among them Jackson Mandago, Stanley Kiptis and also Dr Hillary Barchok from Bomet county.
