The Dagoreti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati has now delivered good news to the ODM brigade after he revealed the details of what was discussed in a meeting held by leaders from the Gusii community.
Arati who has been a strong supporter of the ODM leader Raila Odinga stated that he used the opportunity to woo the leaders from the Gusii community to support the ODM party in their 2022 bid.
“We met as a caucus of Omogusii leaders yesterday to deliberate on the way forward for our community. My advice to the leaders was and still remains that our interests will be best served via ODM,” twitted Arati.
Arati’s message comes just a few weeks after yet other two powerful leaders from the region reaffirmed their unwavering support for the ODM leader Raila Odinga. During the ODM meeting in Nyanza at Sikri Vocational Training Centre, the Kisii Governor James Ongwae made the statement urging the region’s leaders to rally behind Raila.
“I want to assure those have been walking around and doing nothing that Nyanza region remains to be ODM stronghold and we continue supporting our party,” said Ongwae.
Few days ago, Honourable Richard Onyonka while debating on Citizen Television took an issue with the Nyeri County Speaker for saying that Raila cannot sell in Mount Kenya region. He schooled the young speaker about some of the achievements of Raila to the nation. In more practical terms he seemed to have been endorsing Raila’s presidency despite being an OKA official.
With more of such voices coming from many leaders from the two Gusii counties, it is almost becoming clear that the ODM leader is gaining an edge in the region more than any other aspirant ahead of 2022 presidential contest.
