The move by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to ban Western and Rift Valley matatus from accessing Nairobi CBD from next month has elicited mixed reactions from kenyans.
Kenyans have now claimed that this decision will be a huge blow to the luyha and Kalenjin community who majorly uses the two saccos to travel to and fro Nairobi.
According to the report, the decision of banning the two PSV saccos was reached last week and will be effected on December, 1, 2022. Matatus from the two saccos will now pick and drop passengers at Green Park Terminus. This is among the many ways the Nairobi county government is planning to decongest the Nairobi CBD.
This announcement has now caused mixed reactions with section of kenyans claiming that Kalenjin and luyha community will likely get lost in Nairobi because they have been used to be dropped and picked at the CBD for their upcountry travels.
Below are some of the reactions from kenyans.
Barton: Sasa Waluyha ndo watapotea town vizuri.
Prince Kasikeu: Very good, problem ni wakalee watapotea town.
Izoh: Wakalee tusiposhuka Afya Center tutapotea jameni please reconsider this.
