Kirinyaga County will host this year’s Mashujaa Day that will happen on October 20, as plans to for event is currently ongoing. Earlier this month Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho inspected ongoing works at Wanguru stadium, Kirinyaga County, which will host this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations. Civil works are in high gear at the facility, and the National Celebrations Steering Committee is confident the venue will be ready in time for the event.
So far, the celebrations have been held in Nakuru, Machakos, Meru, Nyeri, Kakamega, Mombasa, Narok, and Kisii in line with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive that counties host two of the three national holidays on a rotational basis.
Key leaders will be expected to be in the National event that will be presided over by the President Uhuru Kenyatta. Among the leaders who will be expected at the event will be ODM Chief, Raila Odinga, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU leader Gedion Moi among other dignitaries.
