Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen faced the music after the crowd jeered him when he attempted to campaign for a sitting Member of Parliament in Bomet county.
This follows after the former Senate Majority Leader called on Konoin residents to reelect their MP Brighton Yegon to the National Assembly to continue delivering on his pledges to them (Konoin residents).
According to the deputy president Dr William Ruto's closest ally, Konoin constituents should hand Yegon another term as a lawmaker to rectify his transgressions and mend his broken promises in 2022 general election.
Murkomen was speaking at a function in Bomet county that was also attended by governor Dr Hillary Barchok, senator Dr Christopher Langat, MPs Johanna Ng'eno (Emurua Dikir), Brighton Yegon (Konoin) and a number of MCAs among others.
When the senator was given an opportunity to address the gathering that attended the event, he castigated president Uhuru Kenyatta for calling on deputy president Dr William Ruto for criticizing the government. He called on him to retire so that Kenyans find peace.
However, trouble began when he called on the locals to consider adding another term to Yegon to accomplished what he had not. The crowd responded by disagreeing with his sentiments loudly.
"No!No!No!" The crowd chanted.
He was forced to respect their position by giving in to their opinion in order to avoid embarrassing himself further.
Yegon has been accused of incompetence and negligence by his constituents after reportedly failing to deliver on his election pledges. They are contemplating supporting another individual who, in their observation, would turn tables for the better.
