Mt Kenya region has been a dwelling region for presidential candidates where they believe that it has more votes compared to other regions. Deputy president William Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga, president Uhuru Kenyatta and OKA principals have also been looking for votes and support from Mt Kenya region ahead of August general elections.
Recently, president Uhuru Kenyatta endorsed ODM leader Raila Odinga and urged the people from Mt Kenya to support him for his presidential bid.
Today, Mt Kenya leaders including speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi said that it is very awkward and wrong for politicians to say that mt Kenya region does not have presidential candidate but people should label them number one.
"It is wrong and an insult to say that Mt Kenya doesn't have a presidential candidate. Why should anyone come looking for our votes yet label us just fit for number two?," said Justin Muturi.
