Bunyasi Disputes Busia Provisional Gubernatorial Results

ODM gubernatorial candidate Paul Otuoma and party leader Raila Odinga

ANC sponsored candidate and immediate Nambale MP for the Busia gubernatorial race John Sakwa Bunyasi who was Otuoma's main challenger has flagged results of 5 constituencies out of the seven that make up busia County.

According to the disgruntled politician, results presented from Otuoma's home constituency of Funyula alongside Matayos constituency, Butula constituency, Teso North constituency and Budalang'i are questionable.

He claims that the posted results were marred by elections malpractices hence he will not approve them by the end of tallying and declaration of the winner.

"I have enough grounds to prove beyond reasonable doubt that there were elections malpractices in the said sub-counties that affected the results to the extent as currently is." Bunyasi said.

Bunyasi who served for two terms as Nambale constituency member of parliament has since made it clear that the results from the highlighted Sub Counties stand rejected and that the would be gubernatorial results also stand petitioned.

It should be noted that since the beginning of the tallying exercise at the County's main centre at Agricultural Training Centre within the precincts of busia town, all indicators showed Paul Otuoma is headed to victory from the word go.

"In that regard i will tonight not be appending my signature to the fixious results. The results from the said Sub Counties stand rejected and in that regard the gubernatorial results stand petitioned." He added.
