His post reminded kenyans how he battled with Powerful cartels in the City Hall in Nairobi county when he was the governor. It is in Record that Sonko decided one day to leave Nairobi residential Place and settled in Machakos County claiming that his life was in danger due to his fight with Powerful cartels.
However, his struggle did not ended there. He later battled with his Deputy, Hon Igathy leading to his resignation. Dramatically, Sonko was later arrested over corruption allegations, misuse of office and mistreatment of workers in the city Hall.
He ended up in sell for more than two weeks. But when he was released, the battle between him and MCAs erupted. This lead to his unexpected impeachment of which he blamed the state for engineering it.
