ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo on Sunday December 4th trolled by citizens on his return to Raila Odinga's backyard in Siaya county. This happened after the CS detailed how he had led a relief food distribution in Siaya county and later in Kisumu county. Owalo revealed that on behalf of Mr president, William Ruto, he flagged off distribution of relief food to the residents of Siaya which he did at Awelo Open Air Grounds in Siaya town.
According to Owalo, the distribution focused on the vulnerable and underprivileged who are mostly affected by drought situation. However Kenyans, took issue with the fact that the CS was busy distributing relief food in Siaya instead of focusing on his ministry. All the same, despite the region being known to be the opposition leader's backyard, Ruto is growing his popularity there and is likely to create some stiff competition to the former prime minister in coming elections.
The distribution of food come a few days after Ruto launched relief food distribution drive to deal with effects of drought which is currently affecting 23 counties in Kenya with 10 of them being in the alarm stage. Thank you for reading my article.
