Police fire teargas at Azimio Legislators at IEBC HQ protesting Interdiction of CEO Kulundu

Police at Bomas tear-gassed Azimio supporters allied to honorable Raila Odinga to stop matching towards the inter electrol and boundary commission (IEBC) anniversary tower in amid to petition the electoral agency over the interdiction of deputy CEO Ruth kulundu.

Legislator Moses opiyo ,Otieno Kajwang, his counterpart nominated member of senate Narok County Ledama ole kina, Dagoretti North’s John Kiarie, Cecilly Mbarire (Nominated) were caught in the chaos as the riot police dispersed supporters.

The participants had started gathering at the Azimio office in IEBC headquarters premises.Last week, the lawmakers led by Opiyo Wandayi had given Wafula Chebukati 48 hours to reinstate her or face unspecified actions.

IEBC accused Kulundu of working in cahoots with the four dissenting IEBC commissioners led by Julian Cherera.

Honorable Moses opiyo, the Azimio candidate, who had organized the meeting when the police arrived and barricade the entrance to the office with stones and kept away anyone trying to enter the premises.

It was unclear why authorities were stopping the meeting but sources claimed that the organizers had not adhered to any rule of law according to the constitution.

Raila Odinga's allies who were in another meeting in the Nairobi County were also expected in Bomas to compell the move by the coalition in demanding the IEBC to interdict the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ruth Kulundu back to the office.
