Mithika Linturi who was vying for the Meru Gubernatorial post on a United Democratic Alliance party ticket lost the seat to an Independent Candidate in the race.
However, President William Ruto, rewarded his loyalty with a Cabinet Secretary Nominee slot and will thus be serving in the cabinet of President William Ruto if Parliament approves his name.
However, Mithika Linturi was facing a court case in which he was accused of rape by a woman which happened months ago at a hotel in Nanyuki as per the reports that we have with us.
This afternoon, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from The Star Newspaper, the woman who had accused Mithika Linturi of Rape has withdrawn the case from the courts.
It is unclear as to what agreement has been reached for the woman to drop the case against the popular politician who has been nominated for a cabinet Secretary slot in President William Ruto's government.
This means that there is nothing holding back Mithika Linturi for the Cabinet Secretary slot.
Let us know your thoughts and opinions on this latest development from The Courts this afternoon in the comments section below.
