Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential candidate has named his running mate today at KICC in Nairobi.
The candidates were assessed based on their constitutional qualifications, government knowledge, personality, political skills, compatibility, and dedication to the Azimio presidential candidate.
Sabina Chege, a Murang'a Woman Representative, Peter Munya, the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, and Stephen Tarus, a former Emgwen MP, are among the others who were interviewed.
Presidential candidates have till Monday midnight to submit their names and running mates to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for clearance.
The screening team, chaired by former Kwanza MP Wekesa, shifted its focus to Raila after receiving the names on Thursday.
Wekesa stated that it was now up to Raila to reveal the identity, which he has settled on Martha Karua. He added that they assisted the ODM leader in identifying a good candidate. Other leaders who vied for this position including Kalonzo has been given various positions in Raila's government.
