There will be a meeting between IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati and the four candidates for president of Kenya today. Presidential candidates Deputy President William Ruto, Raila Odinga, George Wajackoya, and Waihiga Mwaure will be meeting with IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club for advice.
Discussion topics will include how to disseminate printed voter registration forms best, share election results with the public, and arrange candidate schedules. The IEBC Chairperson has said, "Please take note that not more than five persons may accompany you."
On June 18, KPMG delivered its final audit of the ROV to the IEBC. According to Chebukati, there will be 46,232 polling locations for the next 2022 election. With an increase of 13% from 2016, there were 40,883 official voting locations in 2017. From 19.6 million to 22.1 million, an increase of nearly 12.79 percent of eligible voters.
According to Marjan Hussein, chief executive officer of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), extensive voting fraud was uncovered by the audit. KPMG conducted an in-depth study of the register and discovered transfer transactions between the 2017 general election and May 2022. There were many districts and counties where Marjan found evidence of suspicious patterns of voter transfers recorded in the Register of Voters.
