Valentine Anyango is vying for a Kisumu woman representative in Movement for Growth and Democracy (MGD). Her opponents are Ruth Odinga and Scholar Rose Kisia. The 22-year-old who is said to have been raised by a single mother makes her a better place to express issues affecting women and girls.
The confidence by youth to take up leadership roles be part of the mission and plan agenda appears to be gaining rhythm ahead of the August 9 general elections. Despite her having financial problems and being viewed as a political learner, the youths have come out in large numbers to seat elective positions in this year's election more than in previous years.
In Kisumu, a 22 year old Valentine Onyango Otieno alias Agal Toto has thrown her hat in the ring in readiness to crash with big names in the political space. The University of Nairobi graduate who is eyeing the women's rep seat under the ticket of Movement for Growth and Democracy has to tackle political giants like Ruth Odinga of ODM and Scholar Kisia.
Despite the area being ODM's backyard, the young lady is determined to break her political record and become the next women rep of Kisumu at the National Assembly.
