When Kenya Kwanza unveiled their running mate on Sunday, Kenyans had no assurance of who DP Ruto would pick. Fortunately enough for the people of Nyeri, their son was selected from a pool of 3 men and one woman. Rigathi Gachagua was a favorite for Ruto himself since he once hinted on naming him as his Deputy.
While Kenyans were not involved in choosing the preferred running mate for the incumbent Deputy President, Kenya Kwanza leaders were directly involved in the process. Gachagua himself has been on the campaign trail with Ruto as they try their best to sell agenda to Kenyans Ahead of August Elections.
During the burial of Gachagua's elder brother, Ruto revealed the two main reasons why they settled on the current Mathira Member of Parliament. One of the reason is that Rigathi is an hard worker, according to Ruto the man has been on the rise since his first job as a public servant. It seems this virtue will be vital if they win the election.
The second value is they Gachagua is a God fearing man. According to Ruto, without God one will never go far and he noticed that Rigathi is a believer of Christ. Ruto is a firm believer in Religion as he has been attending church services almost every Sunday. With the two factors being evident in the Kenya Kwanza running mate, Kenyans can now easily decide who to vote for come August.
