Led by residents of Kolwa and Kajulu areas, the locals have thrown their weight behind former President, East African Law Society James Aggrey Mwamu to vie for the seat currently held by MP Shakeel Shabir.
Speaking at his Kolwa home, Mwamu accepted the endorsement terming it a big gesture bestowed to him by the residents.
"I promise to walk with you in this political journey," he said.
He urged residents to register as voters in large numbers, ahead of next year's elections.
Speaking on behalf of the residents, ex senior Chief Willis Obura Ombuayo said Mwamu has what it takes to lead the Constituency as its next MP.
Charles Okello, a resident said they have decided to elect a new MP next year to replace the current MP who is serving his third term.
