The history of women in politics does not favor the Narc leader Martha Karua. Karua was few days ago chosen as the running mate for the Azimio la Umoja coalition under the leadership of Raila Odinga.
Although in her campaigns crowds are more,this does not give her guarantee that she will be voted by everyone attending those rallies in different regions.
According to history of the Kenyan women who tried to vie for the top seats in the country, there is no even a single woman who has managed to score beyond 10% of the votes that are casted during the election day.
The woman who got at least more votes is Charity Ngilu who received 7.89 % of the votes casted in the year 1997 using social Democratic party.
In fact other women aspirants who tried vying for those seats their is no even a single one who managed to gather votes that are past 1% of the total casted votes.
