Former CCK Party Member Floors Big Names As He Clinches UDA Ticket In Kandara Costituency

Chege Njuguna has won the UDA party ticket in the Kandara Costituency party primaries following his immense record of beating other 14 candidates who were seeking to succeed CS Alice Wahome.

According to the report, Njuguna garnered 7,826 votes followed by Titus Njau in the second position with 5,335 votes, Stephen Mwaura came third with 4,415 as James Kamau and Evelyn Waithira came fourth and fifth with2,191 and 1,267 votes respectively.

Njuguna will now be handed the UDA ticket and from the record he has high chances of clinching to power in consideration how Mt Kenya region is rallying behind the UDA yellow wave.

Njuguna was contesting with the Chama Cha Kazi party of Moses Kuria in the August general elections where he was a worthy competitor of Alice Wahome, he however came second after garnering 19,260 votes against Wahome who garnered 39,009 votes.

The Kandara parliamentary seat was declared vacant after President Ruto appointed Alice Wahome as his cabinet secretary for Water and Sanitation. The by election in the costituency is slated on January 5.
