With Kandara being the only constituency in the country with two Cabinet Secretaries in the government, allegations have emerged as to why President William Ruto had to nominate Alice Wahome and Prof Njuguna Ndung'u into his government.
In a statement that was posted by Kenyans.co.ke on its official Twitter account on Sunday evening, revealed that following the close ties between Kandara and the Head of State before the August 9th General Elections, he had to reward them with two cabinet ministers due to their undying loyalty to him.
According to the statement, Wahome and Njuguna vigorously campaigned for Ruto in Mt Kenya to ensure that he edged out former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

After emerging victorious in the August polls, President Ruto nominated Alice Wahome as Water Cabinet Secretary while Prof Njuguna Ndung'u was nominated to the Treasury. This was seen as a way of rewarding them due to their undying loyalty to him.
