Started in 1982, the Mount Kenya Academy is situated along Nyeri-Kiganjo road. It is a day and boarding school with both primary and secondary sections. He also attended other schools in Uganda after his father became the president. He graduated from Mary's College in 1994.
It is said that he attended the University of Nottingham for a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in political science. However, whether he graduated becomes uncertain to tell since it is said that his stay at the university lasted only for two years. A degree takes a minimum of three years.
