As of right now, Juliana Cherera serves as the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission's vice chair. She will be noted for leading the other three IEBC Commissioners in boycotting the presidential results of the recently ended bitterly contested 2022 general elections, which president William Samoei Arap Ruto barely and contentiously won.
Juliana Cherera, vice chair of the IEBC, has received bad news after her attempt to stop the next action failed. The Star Kenya reports that Juliana Cherera, vice chair of the IEBC, failed in her attempt to prevent the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs from holding any hearings to consider her removal from office.
In response to four citizens submitting resolutions in the Parliament calling for their dismissal from the IEBC, Juliana Cherera and the other three Commissioners have been called to testify before the committee on Thursday.
"IEBC Vice Chair Juliana Cherera's attempt to stop the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs from conducting any hearings seeking her removal from office flops." The Star Kenya tweeted.
