Kiminini MP who also doubles up as the Ford Kenya Secretary General Hon Dr Chris Wamalwa was yesterday cleared by the IEBC to vie for the Transnzoia County governorship amid high tension in the county following a plot to lock him out by his political opponents.
All was set for Dr Chris Wamalwa until Wednesday when his opponents from the former RC Natembeya side colluded with dark forces to lock Mwalimu Bethwel Kirior out of the governorship race at the last minute leaving Dr Wamalwa naked without a running mate thus missing out on IEBC clearance.
The plot was however thwarted by Dr Chris Wamalwa who quickly assembled his team of think tanks that later on invited the Kalenjin elders and stakeholders for a round table meeting to solve the puzzle.
The meeting resolved to Mrs Joyce Keter Cheruto a youthful lady who brings in the face of the Kalenjin community, balance gender, a mother figure of two children and a successful academician who brings in her vast international experience and connections to serve the people of Transnzoia.
Dr Chris Wamalwa in company of Mwalimu Bethwel Kirior, yesterday in a series of events unveiled Mrs Joyce Keter Cheruto as the preferred Deputy Governor and was seconded by the community elders and stakeholders.
