Musalia Mudavadi, the leader of the Amani National Congress (ANC), has been supporting Raila's presidential campaign since 2013, and hoped that one day Raila will back him for president. However, because Raila has been unable to obtain the presidency for decades, Mudavadi believes Raila cannot form the next administration.
Mudavadi has recently been photographed with Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala, avoiding the company of One Kenya Alliance (OKA) leaders Gideon Moi, Moses Wetangula, and Kalonzo Musyoka. His friendship with Cleophas Malala appears to have caused consternation among people because they believe Cleophas Malala's master is Deputy President William Ruto.
Cleophas Malala stokes the flames by announcing that if the leaders of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) make the mistake of supporting Raila, they are ready to back William Ruto. He further stated that they are tired of supporting Raila and that it is now time for Raila to stand on his own.
