A member of county assembly representing the residents of Kipsonoi ward in Bomet county Hon.Weldon Cheriyot has suffered a major blow as the the residents whom he represent vows to sent him home comes 2022.
According to the residents of Chebole village in Kipsonoi ward in Sotik constituency within Bomet county,there is high chances of Hon.Peter Kipchirchir Rono to unseat the incumbent.
Hon.Peter Rono who hails from Sisek village,Kapkelei sub-location, Ndani division, Kipsonoi ward within Sotik constituency in Bomet county has already declared that he will seek the mandate of Kipsonoi residents comes next year to lead them as their member of county assembly using the newly created party of United Democratic Alliance party whose leader is perceived to be the deputy president of republic of Kenya H.E Dr.William Ruto.
The optimistic leader vied for the said seat in the last general election of 2017 in Jubilee Party but lost to the incumbent Hon.Weldon Cheriyot.
Rono decided to accept the defeat against his supporters whom believed that the honarable member was rigged during the primaries in favor of the sitting honarable member.
While speaking at the fundraising function at Matiret village within Kipsonoi ward the hopeful leader called upon the attendees to give him their mandates by voting him in during the ward race comes 2022.
According to Rono who seems to be reading from the same script with the deputy president of republic of Kenya,there is a need of the people to be empowered as far as economy is concern.
He revealed that,if given an opportunity to serve the residents of Kipsonoi residents he will embrace the bottom up approach economy for the success of his residents whom have lacked behind as far as the development is concern in the said ward.
The vocal leader who is perceived to be having the overwhelming support from residents did also revealed that he gave the incumbent full support and adequate time to deliver to the residents of Kipsonoi ward and Bomet county as whole without disturbing him in anyway.
"When you people as the Kipsonoi residents spoke in the last general election,I took a vow to give my brother and my friend Hon.Weldon Cheriyot to deliver his manifestos without interfering with him in whatever way," Rono said.
"Now the time is almost ending,we have less than 13 months to the general election,it is my request that you also try my leadership comes 2022 and am very sure that you won't regret whatsoever," He continues
"I believe that you all know that this Kipsonoi ward needs alot of development such as infrastructure,roads, bursaries among others,comes 2022 I humbly requesting that you remember me and make an informed decision," He concluded.
Mr.Evans Langat of Ndanai villages told our correspondent that Hon.Rono is the most famous and popular UDA candidate so far in the entire Kipsonoi ward, utilising the same breath to alleged that the residents of the said area have decided to sent the incumbent home comes general election.
Langat further claimed that,in the last general election,Hon.Peter Rono had won but because of some forces he was denied his victory in favor of Hon.Cheriyot.
"Huyo mheshimiwa alikuwa ameshida kabisa, lakini kwa sababu ambazo hatukujua mwengine anaitwa Cheriyot akatangazwa ati ameshinda," Langat said
Mr.Charles Koskei who hails from Matiret village did also showers alot of praises to the hopeful member.
According to Mr.Koskey the said member is meek and down to earth leader who can be approached at anytime of need, adding that it is hard for the incumbent to be seen or reached.
"Hon.Peter Rono has high chances of winning 2022,I can tell you for the fact that the ground has shifted to Peter Rono," Langat said.
Mr.Edwin Koech is a resident of Kapkelei village within Kipsonoi ward.
According to him, honorable Rono is a very good leader who is educated and ready for the task ahead of him, adding that the residents have already declared that 2022 their leader in the county assembly of Bomet is Hon.Peter Rono simply because of his manifestos and he has convinced alot of people that he has their interest in his heart,the qualities that made the residents of Kipsonoi ward to settle at him.
Mrs.Rachel Sang of Chemogoi sub-location did also confirmed that the residents especially of Tiricha,Kapkures and Matiret are glued at Hon.Peter Rono, adding that the outspoken leader has been in for them since he was defeated in 2017.
Hon.Peter Kipchirchir Rono who seems to have won the hearts of Kipsonoi residents will be in the ward race together with the incumbent who has already declared that he will defend his seat comes 2022.
Other hopeful leaders who are eyeing the said ward office includes;Hon.Leonard Ngeny,Hon.Geoffry Rono,Hon.John,Hon.Zeddy Sang well known as 'Obot Kiprono',Hon.Edwin Kirui well known as Borbori of Chama Cha Mashinani party among others.
It is now the matter of wait and see if Kipsonoi residents in Sotik constituency within Bomet county are going to elect Hon.Peter Rono as their ward representative as many residents believed or not.
