Politics: Is zoning the solution to end sibling rivalry in Azimio and Kenya Kwanza?

Azimio One Kenya coalition party and the Kenya Kwanza alliance are the biggest political outfit right now in the country. However, sibling rivalry between constituent parties is threatening the disintegration of these two large outfits. The two leaders that is Raila and Ruto are having a hard time to quell internal wrangles, probably the biggest mistakes the two leaders made was to allow each affiliate party to fill a candidate hence making sibling rivalry to get out of hand. For example Kenya Kwanza largest party that is the UDA being led by their party boss have been campaigning on the basis that their supporters should vote for only UDA candidates something that has angered other parties in the alliance.

TSP Party under Mwangi Kiunjuri, Tujibebe Party under William Kabogo and Chama Cha Kazi under Moses Kuria have all voiced concern in the manner they are being edged out. They claim their candidates are not being given time to campaign whenever the Kenya Kwanza is holding a rally hence edging out candidates from other parties.

In the other hand, Azimio's roof is also leaking after the coalitions council decided to zone areas and requested weaker candidates to step down for more stronger candidates to boost their chances of winning more seats. This school of thought has created a lot of backlash as most candidates vowing to stay put and not stepping down for other candidates. If Raila doesn't watch out he might just lose a lot of votes as some candidates decided to go for smaller parties within Azimio because bigger parties issued direct nominations to other candidates instead of party primaries.

This gambling between Raila and Ruto is a costly affair and if the two leaders don't watch out they might have just started the biggest political battle so far this year. Zoning of certain regions, weaker candidates stepping down for stronger ones or six piece voting is not the solution, the solution is let democracy prevail and the best candidate will surely carry the day.
