After the Sagana meeting where MCAs were promised two million shillings each for car grants to support the building initiative process, the remarks have become a big issue of discussion among Kenyans. Most of the Kenyans have opposed the move claiming it will be costly to Kenyans considering the tough economic situation in the country.
Senator Millicent Omanga who has been in the frontline campaign against the building initiative process has ironically supported the move to give MCAs car grants. In her statement, she claimed that MCAs should be treated equally as members of Parliament to facilitate effective delivery of services to the citizens.
However, her remarks have received a lot of opposition and criticism from internet users. Some arguing that both legislatures should not be given car grants as they are entitled to heavy salaries therefore, such grants should be directed to the low-class people.
Other groups of Facebook users have vied remarks as an indication of selfishness among the leaders. Millicent Omanga and his team have been moving around the country giving people wheelbarrows and hand carts.
