Rumors Emerge About DP Ruto's Plans For Repeat Elections

There are claims that William Ruto is covertly working on a strategy to win elections in the event that the Supreme Court throws out the results of the presidential election. Rafael Tuju claims that if the IEBC had, by chance, decided to call for a second election, they could still have used the same corrupted system, allowing the same irregularities. Tuju claimed that Azimio had sufficient proof to present to the Supreme Court as evidence that the election had been rigged. He claimed that the Azimio team preferred to appeal to the Supreme Court rather than try a second time with a compromised commission and system.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBCdecision )'s not to pursue a rerun of the presidential election on August 9 reportedly delighted Azimio la Umoja, according to executive director Raphael Tuju. Tuju defended his position by stating that by revealing problems in the entire electioneering process, moving to the Supreme Court will help the Commission organize fair elections in the future.
