With one month left for Kirinyaga county to host this year's Mashujaa Day celebrations that'll once again be held in commemoration of our national heroes, several leaders from that Mt. Kenya county have finally put their political differences aside to come together for the sake and good of their people.
We say this because just like how it was previously announced, hundreds of Kirinyaga residents have converged at General Kassam Stadium in Kirinyaga's Gichugu Constituency to participate in a meeting seeking to bring them together and speak with one voice.
The residents that include both elected leaders and civilians from different political inclinations have met to discuss matters relating to regional unity and unity of their county ahead of that Mashujaa Day celebrations that'll be held on October 20th.
They are also said to be using the meeting to deliberate on matters that they would wish President Uhuru Kenyatta to address once he visits the Mt. Kenya region and specifically their county next month after presiding over the October 20th celebrations.
At the time of writing this article, the meeting had commenced with attendees being entertained by various local artists from the county.
The photos below depict how things are unfolding on the ground.
