20 Heads Of State To Grace Ruto's Swearing-in Tuesday

PS Kibicho revealed that 2,500 VIPs will also attend the inauguration while speaking to the media at the Kasarani Stadium on Saturday after leading an inspection visit.

The swearing in of the President elect and his Vice President Rigathi Gachagua will be seen by 60,000 Kenyans he added.

The Assumption of Office Committee reassured Kenyans that everything will be ready before the big day while acknowledging that preparations are still ongoing.

Following the Supreme Court affirmation of Dr. Ruto victory on Monday the Assumption of the Office of the President Committee convened on Tuesday morning in accordance with President Uhuru Kenyatta steadfast commitment to ensuring a seamless transition to the next Administration.

The Third Schedule specifies the oath of allegiance and the oath or affirmation for carrying out official duties which must be taken and subscribed by the President elect in order to take office.

Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Anne Amadi will administer the oath while Chief Justice Martha Koome will witness it.

The ceremony must take place between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm in order to comply with the legislation.

A holiday has been declared for Tuesday September 13th To make room for the swearing in September 1st has been proclaimed a public holiday.

The day was designated a holiday because it was the day of the inauguration of both the President elect and the Deputy President elect according to a Gazette Notice from Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government Fred Matiangi.
