Since the general election in 2022 is still a few months away, the head of the Orange Democratic Movement party may expect direct support or endorsement from Uhuru, particularly in the mountains. However, while chatting with Citizen TV, Agwambo's camp revealed some shocking news.
With the unpredictability in Uhuru's Mt. Kenya backyard, which saw Hon Martha Karua selected as the region's spokeswoman yesterday, Odinga's battalion has changed their tune, saying Raila is his own man and can maneuver with or without the president's assistance.
A close supporter of Raila's, Migori women's representative, said today on a morning show that the party is fully prepared for any eventuality and that they will not rely on the president's assistance to get Raila elected to the statehouse.
“…we are not banking so much on the issue of direct support from the President, Raila Odinga is his own man… it is okay if the president supported him but it is also okay if he didn’t…” - Dr. Pamela Odhiambo – Woman Rep., Migori
