William Ruto, a candidate for the Kenya Kwanza party, has been recognized by the electoral commission, through its head Wafula Chebukati, as the president-elect of the Kenyan republic for the past 15 hours. However, it was seen that tension increased as soon as Chebukati landed in the Bomas of Kenya, with fights and altercations rife throughout the region, and unrest-related incidents have continued in some areas up to this point.
Some members of the electoral board appeared at the Serena hotel in Nairobi when Chebukati announced Ruto as the winner. They assert that the conclusions reached by chebukati were not their own and that the same results were dubious. While they wait for the decision, the people of Homabay have been asked by Hon. Gladys Wanga to maintain their composure.
She mentioned the following when speaking on her Facebook page: "This matter has not yet come to a resolution. The legal team has come together, and we'll do all in our power to make sure the proper winner is declared." Facebook is my source.
