Deputy President William Ruto shot to the top seat might witness a major boost after reports emerge that a section of Mount Kenya leaders has vowed to support his presidential ambition but with an ultimatum. According to the Star Newspaper, the leaders have openly declared that they will campaign for him.
However, this is not an easy task for Ruto since the leaders have issued demands. According to the new report, their support will come in handy with the deputy president supporting their ambitions in the 2022 elections.
This new revelation could come as good news to Ruto who has for long seeking endorsement from the greater central region. Ruto revealed that he will go solo in next year’s election a move that many political commentators have warned him against. The over 20 leaders are expected to announce their support for the deputy president this coming week.
