Politicians are realigning themselves before the next general election. They have formed new political parties such as UDA Party. Senior politicians are planning to form a coalition that will enable them to ascend to power. The deputy president William Ruto has declared that he will run for presidency in the next election. A part from Ruto, there are other leaders such as Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Wetangula, Jimmy Wanjigi,Dr Alfred Mutua and Raila have similar ambitions.
According to Donald Kipkorir, the deputy president has rebranded his URP party to UDA party. He said that Ruto appointed people from his political backyard to fill government slots he was given by the president. Donald Kipkorir also alleged that Ruto did not appoint even a single person from Mijikenda, Kisii, Somali, Turkana or even from Maasai.
Donald Kipkorir that UDA party is now telling people that they are non- tribal. He said that it is unfortunate that Kenyans are buying this propaganda. They have forgotten that the same politicians appointment more of his tribalsmen to the national government in 2013- 2017.
