The Lake Basin Development Authority, is a regional development authority, that was established in 1979 by an Act of parliament, to spearhead development in the Kenyan portion of Lake Victoria Basin.
Recently, the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA), donated a consignment of rice to Vihiga constituency. The rice is meant to be distributed to all public schools in Vihiga county, as lunch for the 2021 KCPE candidates.
In a statement, Hon. Arnest Kagesi Kavai, the MP for Vihiga constituency said that, "I received a consignement of Rice from Lake Basin Development Authority meant to be distributed to all public primary schools within Vihiga constituency as lunch for the 2021 KCPE candidates. Many thanks to the Lake Basin Development Authority for your continued support to the people of Vihiga constituency."
The rice branded Lake Basin white rice grade 1, was locally sourced from Bunyala, Ahero and other local farmers and packaged at Lake Basin Mill, Kisumu.
Hon. Earnst Kivai Kagesi concluded by saying, "We are committed to ensure that during the Covid-19 pandemic period, our candidate minimize movement and interaction that may lead to contraction of the virus."
