The Kakamega County senate race had various candidates. The race seemed to be tough between Dr Boni Khalwale for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Dr Brian Lishenga for Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
Dr Boni Khalwale has won the senate seat of Kakamega County and his opponent Dr Brian Lishenga has accepted the outcome which is much appreciated for any politician to accept the results after tallying process is done.
He wished Dr Boni Khalwale all the best as he serve the people of Kakamega county.
"It's clear that Dr Boni Khalwale will serve as the senator of Kakamega for the next 5 years. I congratulate him and wish him success in serving our people", Dr Brian Lishenga stated.
He added by thanking the supporters for entrusting in him and voted as the senator of Kakamega County despite the fact that he lost the race.
"I sincerely thank the close to 200,000 voters of Kakamega who placed their hope, trust and dreams in me a young first time politician. I'm deeply honoured. I promise you that the agenda for Kakamega remains alive and well", Dr Brian Lishenga stated.
