Today, Kalonzo Musyoka decided to ditch the Azimio la Umoja coalition and launch his presidential bid. Kalonzo did this by naming Andrew Sunkuli a member of the Wiper party who before the announcement was contesting for the Narok senatorial seat.
Andrew Sunkuli has since accepted to be Kalonzo's runningmate and has vowed to hit the ground immediately to campaign for their joint candidature. However, he never thought he would ever be picked as a runningmate until today. According to the Star Newspaper, the Narok politician was quoted saying, "I thought we were going for jogging when he called. I am happy that I will be the runningmate for my party leader."

This shows that Sunkuli and Kalonzo are very close. Probably they go for jogging sometimes or the political calculations is that he may bring the Maasai votes to the table. The Maa community has been marginalised for many years and having a voice at the national level may bring much needed development.
