Kieni Member of Parliament Hon Kanini Kega, has warned Mount Kenya region residents against believing and electing Deputy President Dr William Ruto, as president in upcoming August 9 general elections drumming up support for the ODM chief Raila Odinga arguing that Ruto has no plan to protect the interest of Mount Kenya region.
Speaking to his electorates in Kieni today as he shared the video clip in his Facebook page, Kanini warned Mt Kenya people against supporting Deputy President Dr William Ruto alleging that Ruto is only hoodwinking the region in order to get votes. He argued that Ruto has denied to form a coalition with political outfits which have their bases in Mount Kenya region, but he has gone ahead of form a coalition with Western region outfits Amani National Congress (ANC) and FORD Kenya as he urges Mt Kenya leaders to fold their parties and join his party UDA.
The vocal legislator who is currently a close ally to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, also alleged that after the coalition between Deputy President Dr William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi Mount Kenya region will not be anywhere near presidency, since it is automatic that Ruto might not pick his running mate from the region but he will pick Musalia Mudavadi.
"Let me ask you my people for sure don't you see that we are being conned by Ruto. Imagine he told our leaders from Mount Kenya to fold their parties and join his party UDA, but he has gone ahead to form a coalition with ANC and FORD Kenya parties all from Western. You know what that means? It now means that we will never be anywhere near presidency since Musalia is going to be his running mate he will not pick running mate from our region. But for Baba (Raila Odinga) he is only going to serve five years and his running mate will be from Mt Kenya and in 2027, he will return back his hand to one of our own." He argued in Kikuyu language.
