Kenya Kwanza Marriage on Shaky Grounds After Reports From Mount Kenya

Things are seemingly not rossy and flowery in the rulling Kenya Kwanza Alliance. Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga has warned that Mount Kenya region will not be undermined in the Kenya Kwanza Coalition.

Speaking on Friday during the swearing in of CECs, Kahiga warned that the insincerity has started to manifest itself in the rulling Coalition, as witnessed during the East African Legislative Assembly elections.

The governor has lifted the lid on behind the scene manoeuvres during election of Kenyan Representatives to the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).

He said the deceit in Kenya Kwańza made Mount Kenya UDA MPs elect former Kieni MP Kanini Kega to EALA despite him being from rival Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition party.

"We want to say that we will walk this journey together if possible. It we want to make it clear we that we have not been married to anyone who thinks that they can solely decide to take us here or there," Kahiga was quoted by the Star Newspaper.

He further warned that partners in Kenya Kwańza should not take Mount Kenya region for granted. He added that Mount Kenya Kenya leaders will keep supporting their own even if they are in the opposition should partners continue to be deceitful.

'It is very early in this marriage but we want to say that the signs are very telling," he added.
