
His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, in his capacity as President-in-Office of the OACPS Heads of State and Government, will on Tuesday, 7th September 2021, Chair the first Africa-CARICOM Summit.

The virtual meeting will bring together African and Carribean Heads of State and Government to discuss the deepening of cooperation and leveraging on opportunities for development and shared prosperity.
This comes after many African countries have been hit hard by the effects of COVID-19 which has resulted to those countries spending a lot of government income in fighting the disease rather than using that money to develop the country economically.
This has resulted to slow economic growth of many countries which has raised the need to address such a situation as quickly as possible to avoid further economic breakdown.
African heads of states have now decided to come together to discuss how they can develop the economy of their countries and prosper African economy together as a continent through developing and prospering African countries as one.
