Attorney Miguna Miguna has disclosed that President William Ruto apologized to him for deporting him to Canada in 2018.
Miguna welcomed the government's and the Head of State's apology in a statement on Saturday, January 14.

After taking part in ODM leader Raila Odinga's unofficial swearing-in as the "Peoples President" in Uhuru Park in March 2018, Miguna was deported.
On October 20, 2022, he was given permission to return when the Ruto administration gave him a new passport, lifted any red alerts that had been placed on him, and made the necessary arrangements for his homecoming.
On October 12, 2022, Miguna declared, "The government of William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua has withdrawn the Red Alerts Uhuru Kenyatta fraudulently set against me with the connivance of Raila Odinga."
The outspoken attorney had a citizenship dispute with the administration of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta prior to his return.
