Recently, a man who released a video of Lamu senator Anwar Loitiptip smoking shisha was sentensed and jailed. The senator was in the company of a lady who was identified as Aeedah Bambi. A Nairobi court had jailed him for one year in imprisonment.
Jones Ochieng Mbolo pleaded guity after it was said that he was trying to get money from the Bambi Persian Ahmed. The magistrate who was Martha Matuku claimed that the suspect has to threaten Bambi to expose her in his video on social media if she would not give him the amount he demanded. This dating nature made Bambi to become remorseful of her actions.
Senator Loitiptip was listed as one of the major witnesses in his video. However, Martha Karua has reacted to this video and the decision made by the court. She claimed that the sentence was manifestly excessive. Was the jailing fair? Could this be impunity of the highest order? Why are leaders always protected by the law?
