Good News To Hustler As Mp Approves This Crucial Motion

A vital resolution to increase their budget was accepted by the National Assembly on Wednesday, November 9, giving Jua Kali artisans and other hustler-class professionals a boost.

John Kiarie, a member of parliament for Dagoretti South, originally introduced the motion at the August House with the goal of empowering craftsmen.

Members of the National Assembly voted in favor of the resolution put up by the MP.

After the motion is approved, artisans would receive 2% of the money allotted for the Uwezo Fund and the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF).

The funds will be utilized to provide artisans with the knowledge, equipment, and tools required for invention and innovation.

While introducing the motion, the MP pointed out that Kenya was a talent and innovation hotbed, particularly with programs like the Annual Youth Innovation Week.

Kiarie wrote in his submissions that "unfortunately, those ideas and breakthroughs enjoy a fleeting period of glory on social media and never proceed beyond that."

According to Kiarie, the country would have a better chance of reaching Vision 2030 if the artistic concepts received the critical support they sorely need because the majority of them aim to address societal issues.

Members of parliament concurred during discussion of the motion that the artisan sector has enormous potential to generate wealth and job opportunities through local manufacture.
