The supreme court ordered the IEBC to recount presidential votes in 15 polling Stations as the votes scrutiny continued. The commission was given from 2pm yesterday to start recounting the votes. The polling Stations include:Nandi Hills and Sinendet primary in Nandi County, Belgut, Kapsuser and Chepktum primary schools in Kericho County, Jomvu and ministry of water tanks in Mombasa County. Others include Mvita,Majenga and Mvita primary and others as listed below.
The supreme court also ordered the IEBC to give Raila Odinga it's system passwords in order to tally the votes for himself. The ODM party leader wanted to prove the recounting in order to avoid more complains. The question is why was he given the passwords alone instead of both candidates being given the same?We hope everything will be done in accordance with the constitutions.
However,Dr.William Samoe Ruto issued his demands to the supreme Court after its move to grant Odinga the IEBC system passwords. According to the reports, Ruto now wants his agents to be in attendance when Raila is given the passwords. It means the two leaders does not trust each other and thus more demands are yet to be given. But why will the supreme court give one candidate the passwords? It remains to be seen what will be the next move.
The commission will have no otherwise but to comply with the supreme Court order in the next few hours. The reports comes at a time when the court is now at a very important face of the petition determination. Kenya is currently under extreme hope for peace ahead of the final decision by the apex court. We remain hopeful for peace, feel free to share my news on other platforms.
